Refund Policy

The default position is that subscription fees are non-refundable, because a free trial exists so you can evaluate VERA before paying. That default has real exceptions, set out below, and we would rather resolve a genuine problem than hold a payment we should not have taken.

1. The default

Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable, including for a partial period. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current term. Your access continues to the end of the period you paid for.

Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased, and unused credits are not refundable when you cancel, downgrade, or delete your account. Credits are a usage-metering unit with no cash value.

2. When we do refund

We will refund in the following situations. Ask us; these are not automatic.

  • Duplicate or erroneous charge. Charged twice for the same period, or charged after a valid cancellation. Refunded in full, always.
  • Unintended renewal, promptly reported. If an annual or monthly renewal caught you out and you tell us within 14 days of the charge, and you have not made significant use of the Service in that period, we will refund it.
  • A defect that prevented use. Where a fault on our side made the Service substantially unusable for a meaningful part of a billing period and support could not resolve it, we will refund or credit the affected portion.
  • Failed AI work. Credits consumed by a generation that failed because of a defect are restored. The system refunds a reserved charge automatically when a generation fails; contact support if one slipped through.
  • Statutory rights. Where consumer law in your jurisdiction gives you a cancellation or refund right that cannot be excluded by contract, that right applies regardless of anything in this policy. VERA is sold for business use, so these rights often do not apply, but where they do, they win.
  • First paid month, new subscribers. If you subscribe, find within 14 days that VERA is not right for your business, and have not used a substantial share of the plan's monthly credits, we will refund the first month at our discretion. This is a goodwill practice, offered once per account.

3. When we do not refund

  • Change of mind after use. A period during which you used the Service, including AI credits, is not refunded because you later decided not to continue.
  • Unused subscription time. Cancelling mid-term does not produce a pro-rata refund of the remainder. You keep access until the term ends.
  • Deleting your account. Deleting your account cancels the subscription. It does not refund the current term or the unused credits that are forfeited with it.
  • Third-party outages. Where a connected platform changes or withdraws its API, or is itself unavailable, and a VERA feature stops working as a result. We will help you find an alternative.
  • AI output you did not like. Credits consumed by a generation that ran successfully are consumed, even if the result was not useful. This is stated up front because AI output quality is inherently variable.
  • Termination for breach. Where we terminate an account for a breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy, fees are not refunded.

4. How to request a refund

Email support@myvera.io with the subject line "Refund request". Include the email address on the account, the charge date and amount, and what happened. We respond within 5 business days.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. We cannot refund to a different card or account.

If we decline, we will tell you why. Reply and ask for a review if you think we got it wrong; it will be looked at by someone else.
