Acceptable Use Policy

VERA can send email and text messages, publish to social platforms, and generate content at volume. That capability is only safe if everyone using it follows the same rules. This policy sets out what is prohibited and what VERA will do about it. It applies to every account, including trial and Free accounts.

1. Scope

This policy applies to everything you do through VERA: prompts you write, content you generate, messages you send, platforms you connect, files you upload, links you share, and automations you configure. It applies to actions taken by an automation rule you created just as it applies to actions you approve by hand.

This policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Breaching it is a breach of the Terms.

2. Prohibited conduct

You must not use VERA to:

  • Break the law. Violate any applicable law or regulation, including marketing and messaging law (such as CAN-SPAM, CASL, and the TCPA), consumer protection law, advertising standards, employment law, licensing requirements for regulated trades, export controls, and sanctions.
  • Send unsolicited or deceptive messages. Send email or SMS to people who have not consented where consent is required, obscure who the sender is, use misleading subject lines, omit a working unsubscribe mechanism, or continue contacting someone after they have opted out.
  • Infringe rights. Upload, generate, or publish content that infringes copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity, or privacy rights, including uploading photographs of people or property you do not have permission to use.
  • Deceive or defraud. Create fake reviews or testimonials, impersonate a person or business, misrepresent affiliation or endorsement, generate synthetic media of a real person without their consent, or produce estimates, invoices, or credentials intended to deceive.
  • Harm or harass. Produce or send content that harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence against anyone, or that sexualizes minors in any way.
  • Attack systems. Attempt unauthorized access to VERA, to another account, or to any connected platform; probe or scan infrastructure without authorization; interfere with or degrade the Service; circumvent rate limits, credit metering, approval gates, or access controls; or use the Service to distribute malware.
  • Enumerate or scrape. Guess, brute-force, or harvest public estimate link tokens; scrape the Service; or extract data at a scale or by a method the interface does not provide.
  • Misuse the AI. Attempt to extract model weights or system prompts, use output to train a competing model, or use VERA for the high-risk purposes prohibited in the AI Usage Policy.
  • Abuse connected platforms. Violate the developer terms, community standards, or automation rules of any platform you connect, including social networks, marketplaces, accounting systems, and payment processors.
  • Misuse other people's data. Upload personal data you have no lawful basis to process, use customer records for purposes your own customers were not told about, or sell data extracted from VERA.

3. Your obligations

Because VERA acts on your instructions and under your account, some responsibilities are unavoidably yours: maintaining consent records for the people you message, honoring opt-outs, keeping your own privacy notices accurate, reviewing generated content before it goes out, and configuring automation rules with guardrails you have actually thought through.

If you send messages through your own connected Twilio or email provider account, that provider's rules apply to you directly, in addition to this policy.

4. How VERA enforces this policy

VERA does not proactively screen or monitor the content you generate or send. We act on reports and on signals that surface through ordinary operations, such as abuse complaints from a connected platform, an email provider, a payment processor, or another user.

Where we find a breach, our response is proportionate to it. We may contact you for an explanation, require a specific change, restrict a feature, throttle or suspend the account, or terminate it. For severe cases, such as illegal content, a credible security threat, or conduct that puts VERA's platform relationships at risk, we may suspend immediately and without prior notice.

Suspension is reversible and does not delete your data. Termination ends your license and your access. Where we suspend or terminate, we will tell you why unless the law prevents us or telling you would compromise an investigation.

The Content Moderation Policy explains the review process, including how to appeal a decision.

5. Reporting abuse

Report abuse of VERA, including messages or content you believe were generated or sent through it, to support@myvera.io with the subject line "Abuse report". Include what you received, when, and any headers or links that help us identify the source.

Report a security vulnerability to support@myvera.io. Do not include exploit details in a public forum. See the Security Policy for our disclosure process.
